JD Writes...

This is my second attempt at a blog post in two weeks.  The first rambled.  This one will get cut short, most likely.

My parents and sister are in town spending Thanksgiving with YB and the kids.  They are having the time of their life.  H did Zumba for the first time with YB today.  Now she has the bug as well, or would if she did it back home.  H leaves tomorrow.  My parents leave Tuesday.  That is about all I know of the goings-on at my house apart from mom buying G a police car that makes noise (which, rightfully so, he loves as I hear him playing with it whenever I call), and mom also buying me something that I will enjoy but won’t tell me what that something is.

I am writing this from the train taking me to New York City for a football game for ESPN tomorrow.  I think it’s ESPN3.  I’ve been on it since Washington, DC where I finished up an NHL Caps show four hours ago.  The day before that, Thanksgiving Day, I did a high school football game in the hood of Philadelphia.  This weekend is indicative of how our lives have gone since early September.  I work at least one game a weekend, sometimes during the week as well, and have traveled as far as Tampa and Memphis this year.  We can’t not see God’s hand in our lives.  His Word says the borrower is servant to the lender.  Boy is that true.  But He is also faithful in providing what we need make our ends meet.  In this season of giving thanks, we give Him thanks for that, His faithfulness and provision.  And we look forward to when a weekend can also mean date nights and family time as well.
