JD Checks In

Since YB's last post Gman hit 19 months old, we've been to Roch and back for Christmas, I've been to DC twice, Williamsburg once, and ODU.  We've got our two week marathon that just started at work.  This Saturday I'll be in Williamsburg, next Saturday in Harrisonburg, that Sunday at work for the final push and will finish out the month at ODU on the 30th.  A few hours ago I sent YB to bed as she's come down with something, Gman went down and I've made the final electronic purchase shifting away from my iPad which is currently up for auction here.  Also, my Nikon FM10 that I bought while at MCC and hasn't been used in pretty much forever is up for auction here.  I've found that my iPad was beginning to not be enough in the trucks I work in and my iMac circa early 2008 I bought to edit with was collecting dust.  So I traded the iMac for a swing-set for Gman and future baby-d plus a couple hundred bucks.  After some finagling and selling stuff I/we don't need anymore (namely random electronics I've procured over the years like my/our old Canon 5MP digital camera that'll make its debut on eBay soon) we should come out even.  Score.

Friday night YB and I were up late watching a movie or "Everybody Loves Raymond" or more likely a combination of the two.  I'm not sure what makes us think we'll be able to sleep in.  Maybe it's that Gman can play by himself in his room for a couple hours when he gets up...or at least used to.  He can open doors now.  Depending on the morning he may take a stroll through the house looking for something to do or just making sure everything is still relatively close to where he left it or, like Saturday morning, going to find his shoes and then making his way back to our room where he put one of them right by my face and stared at me till I woke up upon which he so lovingly exclaimed, "Shoes!"  AKA, get up dad I'm ready to go outside.

On a reflective note, I do have to say the house is very strange when it's quiet.  It doesn't happen all that often.  Maybe it's just me being all introspective and such because I'm tired and the streams of consciousness are leading to the more thoughtful paths rather than plain rambling.  But I don't think so. By the way, M and D are thinking of coming for Easter and renting a house on the beach.  I'm sure they wouldn't mind certain NC residents coming as well.  There's no tunnel to go through from your house #justsayin'.
