Jd checks in...

What a week. YB and I are gearing up for our move, things are falling into place, the Gman is set to make his debut two weeks after our close. So with all of that going on what better to happen than have a hard drive failure? The salt in the wound is that I had most of the essential stuff backed up until three days before the crash. Now I am having to piecemeal it all back, pulling from devices that don't naturally sync back to the computer and taking the machine in to get a new drive installed which I would do myself if things were accessible inside an iMac.

The drive must have been under warranty because it didn't cost us anything but what really gets me down is the amount of time I'm spending trying to put the pieces back together. Last night we got the computer back and I spent four hours forcing my iPad to relinquish data (I hate that it is nearly impossible to sync data back to a Mac from these devices) and grabbing stuff that had been on YB's laptop after freaking out the previous night as to how we're going to get all this stuff done. YB is not happy with me because I'm not able to not worry or think about it and wind up distracted until situations like these are resolved or worked through. While I'm not happy with myself either I can't figure out a way to stay on top of the eight ball and have enough hours in the day.

So now I sit in the news department at work at 5:35pm on a Friday night with the IT guy finding out that my semi resurrected drive will take till tomorrow to copy everything I need. I think I'll go home and see if YB will let me in the house and plead forgiveness.

JD checks in...

What a lazy Sunday afternoon.

I love it.

I just got back from a run (five straight miles except for stopping to cross a busy street). It's hard to believe the last time I seriously ran was before I met YB when I broke my foot. Yes, I'm avoiding pine cones. I've been going fairly regularly for a few weeks now. It's nice to back into the swing of it especially since the pool at Bally's isn't open when it says it should be and the staff isn't will to crack down on dirty old men wearing their sandals and water mocks in the water.

Eww.

Anyway, like I said it's a wonderfully lazy Sunday afternoon. I just got back from a run and YB is asleep in the bedroom. I'm forming plans in my head on how to get through the month of May. We are still on track to close on our house on the 18th. YB is due June 2nd. In that two week time span I'd like to clean and fix the house and move in. YB also has a diaper shower our Bible study group is throwing. Talk about busy. But I think it can be done. It's going to have to be.

Our house will be open for Thanksgiving and possibly Christmas. Anyone is welcome for the former. We'll have to extra bedrooms (a smaller one and a great big one upstairs) prepped for visitors.
